What materials are your journals crafted with?

Our journals are made wit the highest quality materials we can source. All stock journals and most of Lucille's Oddities are made from full grain Veg-Tanned leather. Each journal is dyed with water based dyes, as to be as environmentally safe as possible. Our journals are hand stitched to ensure durability and the edges are burnished to keep them in the best condition. Lucille's Oddities are often made from repurposed leather and other materials so they may not always be Full Grain Veg-Tanned. Each of her creations will list the materials used in it's unique product description! 

Who makes your items?

Most of the items are handmade by myself! All the journals both stock and custom are hand cut, dyed, stitched and assembled by me or family/friends when we get busy! Other Twelve05 Products like stickers, pins, prints and apparel manufactured with local companies and we try to be as resourceful and environmentally friendly as possible! 

What books would fit in my cover?

Our covers are made to be as versatile as possible. Here are some of the books we can confirm fit in each cover system!

Asteroid's journal in A5 comfortably fits up to 4 Moleskine cahier inserts. You can also fit a regular Moleskine with maybe one or two thin inserts. A Leuchtturm1917 fits in perfectly but does not provide a TON of room for other inserts. Standard TN inserts to fit in this cover but the leather will have overhang on the sides due to the cover being A5 size. The TN size of Asteroid's Journal will fit standard TN inserts perfectly.

Auto's 6-Ring Binder fits true Personal Filofax pages like a glove. Any Personal sized pages or inserts will work that are 3.75"x6.75". True A6 pages will also fit but there will be slight leather overhang on the top and bottom as those pages are a bit shorter. If you would like Auto's binder to fit A6 pages perfectly (or any other size) please reach out to Lucille's Laboratory for a custom order. 

Lucille's Journal Cover in A5 fits most A5 sized books such as moleskines, leuchtturm1917 and Hobonichi Cousins. Depending on the size of your book the fit will be different. This cover fits true A5 books and is modeled after the Hobonichi Cousin Sizing. 

Are your art designs original?

All of our artwork is original art! We do not nor will we EVER use AI, or recreate designs from other artists or media without permission. We craft our own universe here at Twelve05 Studios and are actively working on expanding our universe daily!

What is Lucille's Laboratory?

Lucille's laboratory is what we call our custom service department! Based on our original character Lucille! Here you can order a COMPLETE custom journal in whatever you can dream of! Lucille is not a real person, it is just for fun!

How long do custom orders take to complete?

The turnaround time for custom orders is 4-6 weeks. These orders take a longer time to create depending on how much customization you want!

Can I order a specific journal that I don't see online? (Color, Size, Pockets, Design, etc.)

Yes! We offer COMPLETE customization through Lucille's Laboratory! Anything your brain can come up with, we are happy to create for you. From custom sizes, colors, dye patterns, stitching, embellishments, and more-The possibilities are as expansive as your mind can come up with!

Can I order a stock cover and choose to customize it later?

Yes! If you order one of our stock covers and decide down the road you'd like pockets, or some designs we are able to customize it! There are some limitations depending on your individual journal, but those are unique to you and would be discussed during a consultation! 

Can you customize a different cover that is not from Twelve05 Studios?

Unfortunately, we do not offer customization on other products. We reserve customization to our own materials as those are what we are comfortable working on. You can however come in with your own journals and choose charms, stickers or buy some extra elastic cords for your own modification in store! BRICK AND MORTAR SHOP INFO

Where is your physical store located?

Our Brick-and-Mortar shop will be opening in May of 2025 in Oceanside, CA. The address will be available once the shop opens in May. Check back here soon!

Our Hours will start with Fri-Sun from 12pm-5pm!

We also will be doing pop-up events at art markets and conventions as time goes on. Follow us on Instagram to see if we are coming near you!

Where can I contact you for a question?

You can contact us by email at twelve05studios@gmail.com, through Instagram DMs, or through the Chat button on the bottom left of the website! We check those often and would be best able to assist you that way! No question is too small or too grand to ask so feel free to message at any time!

Can I order a custom journal In-Person?

Yes! Our Brick-and-Mortar shop will be opening in May of 2025 in San Diego County. Here you can come in and buy art, stationery products, stock journal covers and even customize your journal in person! We offer appointments for COMPLETE customization. But for smaller modifications such as charms, elastic band colors, and simple embossing you can walk in and get those done during normal business hours.

Can I get a custom journal Same-Day

Unfortunately no. For complete custom orders they do have a 14 day turn around window. It is just me and occasionally friends or family helping out in the shop so we can only accommodate so many orders at one time. You can however purchase a stock cover and customize your charms and elastic bands in person same day, as well as some other minor modifications.

What items do you have in store?

Since we are just opening, we currently have a small range of stationery products like pens, erasers, lead, glue sticks and more. We carry brands such as Zebra, Tombow, and UniBall but hope to expand our range as the shop grows to be a full stationery store. We also carry all our own original products such as stickers, prints, enamel pins, and apparel. 

LUCILLE'S LABORATORY AND ODDITIES INFO

What is the difference between her Laboratory and the Oddities?

Lucille's Laboratory is our custom order department! There we craft your dream cover however you'd like! Lucille's Oddities are journals that are more experimental, or are journals that may have imperfections at a discounted price so we don't waste materials! The oddities are one-of-a-kind and will not be stock models. Each of her oddities comes with a unique Specimen code and a little card with info about the journal, what materials were used, and the idea behind it. All the weird and wacky covers will be there!

I would like to come in to visit Lucille's Laboratory for a custom cover! When can I do that? Do I need an appointment?

Custom orders are always welcome! You can come in and fill out an order form and see all the materials we have in person. Your order will not be ready same day. Usually has a 14 day turn around timeline but it depends how custom you want your cover! You can still walk in at any time for charms, elastics and to choose your stock cover if you don't have one already! 

I'm unable to come into the store. Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes! If you are unable to come into our store, you can set up a virtual appointment where we can design your cover together and see how it looks. For an appointment please email us at lucilleslaboratory@gmail.com

An oddity is sold out but I really want that cover! Can I custom order it?

It depends. Typically, the answer is yes as long as those materials are available in shop. Sometimes we use stock materials and have different designs and those are easy to replicate. Others use items that have been repurposed and cannot be replicated. Reach out to see if we are able to recreate a cover you'd like!. These recreations will not include an embossed Specimen Code as they are not her original masterpiece.

Who are Asteroid, Auto and Lucille?

Asteroid, Auto and Lucille are our original characters! Alongside running a business, I am working on graphic novels and comic strips with these characters. Twelve05 Studios is a creation of mine that encompasses all of my passions and I wanted my characters to be included in this. Journals and books are a big part of the storytelling in their world so that is why each journal system is named after them! Lucille's Laboratory and Lucille's Oddities are just fun names for different sectors of the business! It is still me creating those products! Though, Lucille would approve all of them if she were real :)

Why include your characters in the shop?

As a creative myself, I think it is important for a brand to showcase creativity and out of the box thinking. By incorp[orating illustrations and characters into my branding, I hope to evoke creativity in each product. I strive to inspire everyone to be imaginative and create. If the brand itself can't highlight creativity and experimentation, how could their products provide that for their customers? The characters are not a part of your journal physically (apart from the logo) it is just for fun!

SHIPPING

How fast do you ship orders? 

All of our stock journals have an up to 30 business day shipping policy, depending on how many orders are being produced. However, most stock models will be shipped out faster. Custom orders have a 4-6 week turnaround time.  Other items ship out orders between 1-5 business days after the order is placed, unless otherwise mentioned in the product description or ordered with an item that takes a longer time to ship. If ordered in bundle, the items will ship out all together. Most of our items are handmade and made to order so they take some time to make them! Do you ship internationally? (outside the USA)

We do ship somewhat internationally. Currently we ship to the UK, Canada and Mexico. Please contact us at twelve05studios@gmail.com for any questions or to arrange international shipping to a different country! 

Do you offer Free Shipping?

We do not offer free shipping as these items are often delicate and require the right shipping labels as well as more expensive packing supplies to ensure your items are delivered in pristine condition! All the money from your shipping cost goes to postage and shipping materials! Shipping rates will depend on your location. 

RETURN POLICY

No returns or exchanges.
